About Lani Wilson - Colorminded Home Design and Renovation Services, San Clemente CA

I have been decorating, designing and arranging interiors all my life. I have designed and decorated the homes of many friends, acquaintences and family throughout the years. I took the leap to start my own business in April, 2004 and was immediately hired to oversee the complete remodel and interior decoration of a 3,000 sq ft home. From there, word-of-mouth led me into this second career as a home designer/interior decorator/color specialist.

I am located in San Clemente, California. I have experience working with architects and draftsmen, city licensing and builders. I have an excellent team of "subs" with whom I work in the Southern Orange County area: tile setters, carpenters, cabinetmakers, painters, plumbers, etc. I have also developed a list of stores that offer an excellent selection of furniture, window treatments, appliances, hardware, fixtures and various types of floor coverings, etc., many at a discount.

As you will see by the photographs on Colorminded.net, color is an integral part of the homes I have helped design and for which I have done the interiors.

My focus is in creating comfortable, usable spaces, with particular emphasis on:

* Floor plans that make sense for the way people live on a daily basis. This includes traffic patterns, placement of workstations in kitchens, sensible bathroom organization, and open spaces for more comfortable living.
* Eclectic use of existing furniture when possible, new furnishings where necessary, and exploring consignment stores for unusual finds that make a room inviting and unique.
* Color, color, color. As you can see from the photographs of my work, living with beautiful colors in your home can enhance your mood every day, and make your home comfortable and inviting.
